Darlene Harcrow, President

I am a wife to a wonderful husband who is been my soul mate for 37 years.  I have 2 adult children who are married and I have a total of 7 grandchildren.  My family is my heart beat.

I have worked with CommUnity Thanksgiving since 2005 as a volunteer coordinator, a co-chair and now as President of CommUnity Thanksgiving Board.  Whether you volunteer or you come in and eat, CommUnity Thanksgiving is like going to your grandmother’s house for Thanksgiving Day and spending the day with all of your aunts, uncles and cousins.   You go home full in the belly and the soul.

I also work as the SR Administrator of Pathways Academy, a statewide homeschool covering.

Both of these positions allow me to meet needs in other people’s lives and hopefully help them see Jesus through my actions.

Helping to manage and be involved with CommUnity Thanksgiving in Gadsden, Alabama for the past 15 years is truly a blessing.  Knowing those who need a nutritious meal on Thanksgiving Day are being served by caring and loving volunteers is a truly rewarding and satisfying experience.  But, not only is a healthy meal served but fellowship is also provided to those in need by a caring community.  CommUnity Thanksgiving in Gadsden is amazing to witness and be involved with year after year,  Join us for either a meal or to help on Thanksgiving Day!  You will not be disappointed!  More importantly, you too will be blessed beyond measure.

John Minton, Treasurer

I have been involved in Community Thanksgiving for 19 years.  My various jobs over the years included running errands, ordering groceries, ordering paper supplies, working in the kitchen opening cans and on the serving line.   I enjoy this because I like helping and meeting people.  I enjoy serving my lord Jesus Christ.

I am a single father who has been blessed in more ways than I can fathom, foremost being my 3 beautiful children. I wanted to find a way to give back, and when CommUnity Thanksgiving was introduced to me I was honored to participate. My family joined me soon and in 2021 we were able to experience the immense blessing of CommUnity Thanksgiving and we are looking forward to many more in the future. The experience of helping others with no agenda, no expectations, just a satisfying feeling of knowing you've made a difference is unmatched.
